Ever since Micah was born, we've been wanting to have her dedicated through our church. It is our way of saying that while she will one day make her own decision about asking Jesus into her heart, we, as her parents, promise to "train [her] up...in the way [s]he should go...." (Proverbs 22:6). We value the meaning behind doing this publicly, in front of our family, friends, and church, and thought it would be special to tie it into her first birthday celebration; to that end, she was dedicated on her actual first birthday, which makes it extra special to us.
If you were not there, it does not mean that we don't value your input, prayers, and support. We want to be held accountable to be the parents God has called us to be to this precious gift we have been given.
